Latest thinking on the use of technology in social care - Ken Ashong contributes to article.
"The impact of technology is immense. From the service user perspective, technology can ensure that they have the right information, that they can make informed choices, that they are well looked after and that they have as much independence as possible. Technology can also help the relatives and friends of service users in, for example, checking that the service has been delivered. And for the care organisation, technology brings the cost of service down by simplifying processes and creating more visibility. There are benefits to be had irrespective of the size of organisation; the cost of technology is relatively cheaper now that it can be used to lower costs for any organisation."
